Austin Downtown Engagement Session | Maria + Guillermo

Image
Guillermo had to take his pup to the vet one day and he couldn’t help but take notice of Maria who was the veterinarian.  Needless to say, he left with a healthy pup and a full heart.  For their engagement session, they wanted a fun and playful shoot highlighting the downtown Austin scene and buildings.  We started at the Austin Central Library and then walked around Seaholm district laughing and having a great time in spite of the  cold weather. Commons Ford Ranch | Austin Elopement photographer

Image
This fun elopement session was shot on a very overcast and somewhat drizzly day at Commons Ford Ranch.  We almost canceled the shoot and I’m soooooo glad we didn’t because it turned out awesome!  Covid has brought the good the bad and the ugly but one new trend is smaller more intimate weddings or eloping with just the two of you.  Austin has become a major hub for elopements and I’m not mad about it.  These smaller more intimate weddings and elopements are by far my favorite.  It takes the stress away from all the details and puts the focus on you and your love story. I can’t get enough of the pictures in the back of their Jeep with their puppy :).   Revisiting some past work collaborating with Kate Goddard of Wild Sky Events.   This shoot was featured on 100 Layer Cake and Brides of Austin ! Make sure to scroll all the way to the end for this amazing cocktail recipe compliments of Royal Fig Catering! Kate’s inspiration for this shoot was born of my favorite place to escape to… New Mexico!  Full of the subtle warmth of the clay tones and pops of vibrant colors.  Other major contributors were… La Tavola Linens ,   Loot Vintage Rentals , and Gretchen with Petals Ink . Royal Fig knocked it out of the park with our cocktails and it was so much fun working with Loot's vintage items to figure out exactly the best way to style these gorgeous drinks!"     Royal Fig’s Gentleman’s New Fashion  2oz bourbon 2 dashes Bitters 1 tsp raw sugar muddle sage blackberry, orange & cherry.  Top with 1.5oz soda water.  Garnish with same. Austin Wedding Photography|71 West Ranch Wedding | Andy & Mandy

Q:  How did you two meet? A:  “We met at a house party hosted by Andy and his roommates while attending Texas State University.  We always think it’s funny that we met before we actually "met." Andy had always felt that he had known me before we actually met at his house in 2013. A few months into dating Andy discovered through Facebook photos (back when we would upload 500 photos into 1 album- guilty as charged) that we had crossed paths before. 375 photos deep into my Spring Break 2011 album...there I am, dancing on a cooler, holding a jug of pre-made shots with none other than Andy Erickson in a cowboy hat chugging from my jug!! UGH college romance, isn't it beautiful?” Q:  Tell us about your wedding details and venue. A:  “We chose 71 West Ranch because it is owned and operated by our family. We have been working so hard to get 71 West developed over the last two years so we couldn't imagine getting married anywhere else! When envisioning our weddin...
